MERIDIAN, Idaho, Apr 13, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Scentsy Family Foundation, the charitable giving arm of the rapidly growing home fragrance company, will present the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) with a check in the amount of $613,177 on April 18, 2011 from 1 to 2 p.m. in Meridian, Idaho . This donation is Scentsy's largest cash contribution to date and is part of the company's overarching goal to donate $1 million to breast cancer charities across the country by 2013.

When I was child my maternal grandfather was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was discovered early and he survived. However, I do know what it's like to lose a mother and two aunts to breast cancer. As a third generation breast cancer patient, I know how it feels to go through cancer treatment, to have many surgical procedures and how cancer affects others around you. I am so grateful for all the medical research that I have personally benefited from. This is one small way for me to be able to "give back".

As a result of this research, my treatment was specific to my particular type of breast cancer. It was important to me as a third generation breast cancer patient. Breast Cancer Research has been a blessing to me and my family. I hope that, with all of us helping, the research continues to assist other breast cancer patients and survivors just like me. Together we can make a difference!
